Since God’s love is everlasting, it will never fail you. God remains committed to loving you no matter what. Matter of fact, God loves you even if you reject His love because His love never changes.
Yes, God disciplines our sins, but He does so out of love. Hebrews 12:6 assures us that “the Lord disciplines the one He loves.” That’s because He’s a loving father, and that’s what loving fathers do.
Unfortunately, some people may have not had a loving father, so they don’t understand the reference. When you accept Jesus to be your savior, you become a child of God. John 4:12 tells us that “To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” As your Heavenly Father, God’s love for you is everlasting, and He wants the best for you, even if that means disciplining you.
Whereas a human father might fail you, God never fails you. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes what real love looks like. He said, love “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (vs. 7-8). Interestingly, the Greek word for love here is agape, which means the God kind of love. This love never fails you because God never fails you.
Moreover, God’s love “bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Whatever situation you find yourself in, know that God has more in store for you. Life can be hard, but the unconditional love of God will sustain you and see you through your trials by His grace and mercy.
